Module Content

1. Types of Emergency

Fire, gas leak, structural collapse, chemical spill, bomb threat, medical mass casualty, severe weather (sandstorm, flash flood).

2. Four-Step Process

1. Alarm sounded / raised. 2. Stop work, isolate energy sources if safe. 3. Evacuate via nearest safe route. 4. Muster and account for personnel.

3. Floor Warden

Wears a distinct high-vis vest, sweeps their assigned area, guides people to the exit, is the last to leave, reports to Incident Commander.

4. Incident Commander

Overall control of the emergency, liaises with Civil Defence and Police, decides on re-entry, records the timeline.

5. Headcount

By trade contractor at the assembly point. Missing persons reported to Incident Commander within 5 minutes. Never send a worker back to search — that is the emergency services' job.

6. Re-entry

Only when Incident Commander declares all clear in writing. Debrief within 24 hours. Lessons captured in the emergency plan.
